Monday, 26TH                                  

SUU’s Ashcroft Observatory, free star-gazing, located on the hilltop just south of the SUU Farm on Westview Drive (Hwy 56 W to Westview Drive).  Open 9:00pm to 11:00pm, interested parties should plan on arriving at the observatory just as the sun sets. For more information and time call 435-586-1409.

Toadz Talent Showcase, held from 9:00pm to 1:00am at Toadz (432 N 100 W, Cedar City) $4 cover charge. All performers are welcome, hosted by Pablo “Of the Mountain” Schwartz. For more info call 435-867-8988.

Cedar Square Dancing Classes begin at 7:00pm in the Senior Center (489 E 200 South, Cedar City).  The first class is free, cost after is $7 a couple or $3.50 a person. For more information please call Pat and Hazel Matthews 435-867-9210 or 435-531-6811.

Open Mic night, (unless something else coincides) at 8:00pm at Groovacious (173 N 100 W, Cedar City) and is FREE to attend. Open to all musicians, poets, actors or egomaniacs, anyone who wants to perform in front of a live audience and improve their stage skills. For more info call 435-867-9800.

Friday Music Memories held 2:00pm to 4:00pm at Emerald Pointe (995 S Regency Rd, Cedar City) FREE program for music lovers with a variety of musicians from Iron County. Fall & Winter Farmers Market held indoor at 509 N 200 W, Cedar City held 9:00am to 12:00pm. Fresh locally grown vegetables and fruits, Artisan cheeses, bread, jams & jellies, fresh eggs and hot food vendors. Vendors welcome, (Must have licenses if required). Fireworks & Torchlight Parade & Family New Year’s Party Held  6:00pm at Giant Steps Lodge, Skiers gracefully glide down the slopes of Brian Head Resort followed by a dazzling fireworks display & party. FREE. For more information call 435-677-2035 or visit www.BrianHead.com.

Monday, 5TH                                 

5th Annual Christmas at the Homestead held 5:30pm – 8:30pm at the Frontier Homestead State Park Museum (635 N. Main St. Cedar City). Admission is $5 per family. For information call 435-586-9290.

Enjoy hot cocoa and fresh popcorn as you wonder through some of the oldest structures in Iron County. Make holiday rag dolls in the pioneer school house, create Christmas cord, old fashion ornaments, holiday cards on the 100-year old printing press and more.

Music Masterworks Holiday Choral held 7:30pm in the Heritage Center Theater (105 N 100 E, Cedar City). Hear the warming and nostalgic sounds of the holiday season with SUU’s Music Masterworks Holiday Choral Concert. A perfect way to share the holiday spirit with family and friends. Sunday, 11TH                  

OSU:  71st annual presentation of Handel’s Messiah, held at 7:30pm in the Heritage Center (105 N 100 E, Cedar City). (Adrianne Tawa, Choir Director.) FREE admission. Seating is on a first come first choose basis so arrive early for best seating. Door open at 6:45pm with lobby music provided by Southern Utah String Quintet on Sunday and the Accidental 5 Brass Quintet on Monday.
