Monday, 28TH           

South Hall Gallery: Digital Photography open Monday thru Friday from 8am to 6pm in the South Hall (SUU campus, 351 W University Blvd, Cedar City), admission is FREE and open to the public. Exhibit features work by students in the Art 3800 Digital Photography class ranging from documentary-style bodies of work to more conceptually-based ones.

SUU’s Ashcroft Observatory, free star-gazing, located on the hilltop just south of the SUU Farm on Westview Drive (Hwy 56 W to Westview Drive).  Open at 8:30pm, interested parties should plan on arriving at the observatory just as the sun sets. For more information and time call 435-586-1409.

 

Tuesday, 29TH

Cedar Square Dancing Classes begin at 7pm in the Senior Center (489 E 200 South, Cedar City).  The first class is free, cost after is $7 a couple or $3.50 a person. For more information please call Pat and Hazel Matthews 435-867-9210 or 435-531-6811.

Open Mic night, at 8pm at Groovacious (173 N 100 W, Cedar City) and is FREE to attend. Open to all musicians, poets, actors or egomaniacs, anyone who wants to perform in front of a live audience and improve their stage skills. For more info call 435-867-9800.

Swing Club 8pm to 10pm in the Multipurpose Center (SUU Campus, 351 W University Blvd, Cedar City) and it is FREE to anyone 18yrs and older. For more information search SUU Swing Dance Club on Facebook.

 

Thursday, 31ST                                                                          

Fireworks & Torchlight Parade, Skiers gracefully glide down the slopes of Brian Head Resort followed by a dazzling fireworks display & party. FREE, beginning at dusk (about 6pm). For more information call 435-677-2035 or visit www.BrianHead.com.

Grand Lodge New Years Eve Dinner and Entertainment dinner starts at 6pm in Leany’s Steak House and ‘Muddy Boots’ will perform at 9pm in the Lift Lounge (314 Hunter ridge Dr, Brain Head). Tickets are $69 per person and include a 3-course meal with tickets to the Lift Lounge.

Family New Years Party beginning 8pm at the Giant Steps Lodge. will feature dinner, dancing and a live band. Dinner is Adults: $40 and Children $15(12 and under). Dinner will be Prime Rib and Shrimp and the live Band will be "Too much Fun." For reservations 866-903-1010

OSU: 69th Annual Handel’s Messiah held at 7:30pm in the Heritage Center (105 N 100 E, Cedar City). Admission is FREE, thanks to State Bank of Southern Utah. A Christmas Carol Held at 7:30pm in the Randall L. Jones Theatre (351 W University Blvd, Cedar City). Tickets are $3 for children and $5 for adults, and are available now at 1-800-PLAYTIX and www.bard.org. This unique children’s theatre production will feature over 50 local children, ranging in ages from five to eighteen.
