Lincoln Day Dinner held at 6pm in the Cross Hollows Middle School (Cedar Middle School) (2215 W Royal Hunte Dr, Cedar City), cost is $20. The evening will include a raffle, prizes, video presentation of “Saving Grace, the History of Iron County’s Sheep Industry”, and a delicious Dutch oven dinner prepared by Vittles “R” Us (Kendall Benson family). SUU’s Ashcroft Observatory, free star-gazing, located on the hilltop just south of the SUU Farm on Westview Drive (Hwy 56 W to Westview Drive).  Open 6:30pm to 8:30pm, interested parties should plan on arriving at the observatory just as the sun sets. CCMA: Verdi’s La Traviata Grand Opera with a full Orchestra held at 7:30pm in the Heritage Theater (Cedar City). Tickets: $30 adults and $15 students. For more information and tickets call 435-865-2882.

Wednesday, 17TH                                                                          

Cedar Square Dancing Classes begin at 7pm in the Senior Center (489 E 200 South, Cedar City).  The first class is free, cost after is $7 a couple or $3.50 a person. For more information please call Pat and Hazel Matthews 435-867-9210 or 435-531-6811.

Ballroom Dance: 4th Annual Dancing with the Stars held at 7:30pm in the SUU Centrum (SUU Campus, 351 W University Blvd, Cedar City). Grand Lodge at Brian Head Grand Opening Celebration held at the Grand Lodge (314 Hunter Ridge Dr, Brian Head). Events include Art Exhibit featuring local artists, Property Tours, Wood Carving, Saddle Making, Pool Tournament, and performances by the Bar G Wranglers. Music Memories 2pm to 4pm at Emerald Pointe (995 S Regency Rd, Cedar City) FREE program for music lovers with a variety of musicians from Iron County that will take you back to the golden age of music. The Cedar Breaks Out! CD Release Party is scheduled for 7pm at Groovacious (173 N 100 W, Cedar City). All of the musicians on the CD will be part of the celebration, playing each of their songs from the collaboration. Proceeds from the sale of this compilation will go to the Southwest Wildlife Foundation. For more information about the CD or the in-store performance/party, call Tim or Lisa Cretsinger at 867-9800.
