Monday, 13TH                                     

Benefit Concert for four local pediatric cancer patients will be at 7:00pm at the Heritage Theater (105 N 100 E, Cedar City) and will feature performing groups: Cardon and past Miss Iron Counties, dance companies: Gravity Dance Canter, Onstage Dance Studio, and The Point Dance Studio with Center Stage Music also performing. There will be a total of ten performances and will last two hours or less. Tickets are available at the door and are $6 for adults and $3 for children younger than 8. Drama Club Mystery Dinner: “Till Death Do Us Part” held 7:00pm at Cedar High School (703 W 600 S, Cedar City). It promises good food and even greater entertainment. The cost is $22 a ticket. For information call 435-586-2820.

 

Tuesday, 14TH                                                 

Convocation, Lecture Series held 11:30am in the Hunter Conference Center, Great Hall (SUU Campus, 351 W University Blvd, Cedar City) and will feature Dustin Heuston; chairman, founder, and CEO of Waterford Institute. Heuston’s lecture is entitled “Engaging Literacy with Technology: Ensuring the Best Education for All Children.” Admission is FREE and open to the public. Children’s Story Time held 12:30pm – 1:00pm at the Frontier Homestead State Park Museum (635 N. Main St, Cedar City), FREE. For information call 435-586-9290.

Tournées Film Festival
, a showcase of French film “Deux De la Vague” (Two in the Wave) which will run at 7:00pm in the Sharwan Smith Center Theater (SUU Campus, 351 W University Blvd, Cedar City). The films are in French with English subtitles, and all are free and open to the public.

Wednesday, 15TH  
London Calling: A Student Presentation of Poetry Opening Reading & Reception 7:00pm in the Gerald R. Sherratt Library (SUU Campus, 351 W University Blvd, Cedar City), admission is FREE and the general public is encouraged to attend. An evening of poetry readings by the students will take place on when the exhibition opens. The readings will be followed by a reception of tea sandwiches and British scones.                                                                                    

Thursday, 16TH                                                                                     

Art Insight featuring artist Michael Melik at 7:00pm in the Centrum Arena, Section K (SUU Campus, 351 W University Blvd, Cedar City) admission is FREE. Michael Melik who is an artist, musician, songwriter, poet, designer, teacher, black-market art dealer, and gallery owner will present on his understanding of contemporary art styles and his own art philosophy. He will also share about his Salt Lake City gallery and the local art market that he works in. For information call 435-865-8800

 

Friday, 17TH  
SUU Wind Ensemble Concert held 7:30pm in the Heritage Theater (105 N 100 E, Cedar City) admission is $8 for adults and $4 for students and children. For information call 435-586-7872.                 

 

Saturday, 18TH    

Cedar Breaks Ranger-Led Snowshoe Walk.  Meet at the Cedar City Main Street Park pavilion 9:00am on in Brian Head at 10:00am (meeting location will vary in Brian Head). Registration is required; NOTE: This event is dependent upon good weather.  For information, to register & reserve snowshoes call 435-586-9451 or visit www.nps.gov/cebr.

Join Forest Service Snow Rangers on guided tours on the ski slopes of Brian Head Resort at 11:00am and 2:00pm beginning at Giant Steps Chairlift #2. Meet at chairlift 15mins before scheduled time. Participating skiers or snowboarders must have a valid day pass or season pass to ride the lift, and have at least an intermediate skiing or snowboarding ability. In the case of extreme or changing weather, including very high winds, poor visibility, or other adverse weather conditions the event may be cancelled at the time of the tour. SUU Symphony Orchestra Fall Concert held at 6:30pm in the Heritage Center Theater (105 N 100 E, Cedar City), admission is FREE and open to the general public.
