Monday, 24TH                        

SUU’s Ashcroft Observatory, free star-gazing, located on the hilltop just south of the SUU Farm on Westview Drive (Hwy 56 W to Westview Drive).  Open 9pm to 11pm, interested parties should plan on arriving at the observatory just as the sun sets. For more information and time call 435-586-1409.

Toadz Talent Showcase, held from 9pm to 1am at Toadz (432 N 100 W, Cedar City) $4 cover charge. All performers are welcome, hosted by Pablo “Of the Mountain” Schwartz. For more info call 435-867-8988.

 

Tuesday, 25TH                                          

SUU Spring Semester Lecture Series (Convocations) presents “Recent Trends in Public Lands Policy” presented by James Rasband; Dean of the J. Reuben Clark Law School. Wednesday, 26TH                                                                               

5th Annual Cedar Chest Quilt Guild Retreat Held at the Crystal Inn (1575 W 200 North, Cedar City) and includes four days and three nights featuring twenty eight classes with teachers from Utah and Nevada and the national teacher from Colorado. Early Registration (before Dec 9th) $15 or $20 after and includes, meet the teacher, trunk show, show-n-tell projects from past retreats. All night sew Friday with lots of door prizes. Art Insight held at 7pm at SUU Campus (351 W University Blvd, Cedar City) and features presentations and discussions by visiting artists and art educators from around the nation who share their work and insights and attend gallery openings. Friday Music Memories held 2pm to 4pm at Emerald Pointe (995 S Regency Rd, Cedar City) FREE program for music lovers with a variety of musicians from Iron County. Come sing along, dance and have fun. Everyone is welcome and refreshments are served. For more information call Flora 435-867-0055.

CCMA Presents: Ailey II Dance Company performing at 7:30pm in the Heritage Center Theater (105 N 100 E, Cedar City). Admission is Adults $30 & Students $15. 2nd Annual Polar Plunge held 12pm (noon) at the Lake at The Hills Recreation Complex (2090 W Royal Hunte Dr, Cedar City). The cost is $25. Cost includes a warm hooded sweatshirt that will certainly come in handy upon exit. All proceeds go to the Special Olympics. Come brave the cold with a chilling plunge to remember.
