Monday, 10TH                        

SUU’s Ashcroft Observatory, free star-gazing, located on the hilltop just south of the SUU Farm on Westview Drive (Hwy 56 W to Westview Drive).  Open 9pm to 11pm, interested parties should plan on arriving at the observatory just as the sun sets. For more information and time call 435-586-1409.

Toadz Talent Showcase, held from 9pm to 1am at Toadz (432 N 100 W, Cedar City) $4 cover charge. All performers are welcome, hosted by Pablo “Of the Mountain” Schwartz. For more info call 435-867-8988.

 

Tuesday, 11TH                                          

Children’s Story Time held from 12:30pm – 1pm at the Frontier Homestead State Park Museum (635 N. Main St, Cedar City). FREE. For information call 435-586-9290.

Master Gardener Class held 4pm to 7pm for location call Candace at 435-586-8132. This is the first of a 14 class series. The speakers for this event are Symbria Patterson, with Red Acre Farms & Albert Montoya, a 2010 Master Gardener graduate. The topics will include organic farming and extending the growing season. Wednesday, 12TH                                                                               

Cedar Square Dancing Classes begin at 7pm in the Senior Center (489 E 200 South, Cedar City).  The first class is free, cost after is $7 a couple or $3.50 a person. For more information please call Pat and Hazel Matthews 435-867-9210 or 435-531-6811.

Open Mic night, (unless something else coincides) at 8pm at Groovacious (173 N 100 W, Cedar City) and is FREE to attend. Open to all musicians, poets, actors or egomaniacs, anyone who wants to perform in front of a live audience and improve their stage skills. For more info call 435-867-9800.

 

Thursday, 13TH                                                                                

Parowan Birthday Celebration held in the Parowan High School. For information call the Parowan Visitor Center at 435-477-9022 or 435-477-8190.
Events will include: 9:30 A.M. – Program by Parowan High and Elementary School students at the high school gymnasium. The annual Grand March, featuring the high school and elementary school students will be lead by the outstanding citizen of the year and the town meeting speaker. 11:00 A.M. – A luncheon will be served at Parowan High School immediately following the school program. No charge – everyone is welcome. 12:00 P.M. – The annual town meeting will be held at Parowan High School.

Art Insight held at 7pm at SUU Campus (351 W University Blvd, Cedar City) and features presentations and discussions by visiting artists and art educators from around the nation who share their work and insights and attend gallery openings. Friday, 14TH

Friday Music Memories held 2pm to 4pm at Emerald Pointe (995 S Regency Rd, Cedar City) FREE program for music lovers with a variety of musicians from Iron County. Come sing along, dance and have fun. Everyone is welcome and refreshments are served. For more information call Flora 435-867-0055.

2nd Annual Freeze Your Buns Run for Scholarships begins 11am outside of Cobblecrest Park (Kanarraville) and includes a 5K course or a 1 mile walk. For information call Tami 435-559-4657 or visit www.raceit.com to register.
